About P-Man Series
"P-Man" is an original hero film series featuring special effects, with each episode basically 5 minutes long. Co-producers are two "indies" filmmakers in Japan, Soei-kai and Genshi-jin, whose childhood memories - i.e. manga doodles - have been visualized with various special effects. An exciting entertainment, depicting battles between evil monsters of special abilities and a brave hero.

History of P-Man Production Team

1995
Submits the pilot film of P-Man to "Seigi no Mikata no Koshien Local Hero Fair qThe Man of Justice Tournament: Local Hero Fairr" hosted by the Nandabe-sai Executive Committee. Launches production of P-Man series.

1996
Completes episodes 1 - 4. Hosts an indies screening party "Yokohama Goraku-za qYokohama Entertainment Theatrer". Releases the video vol.1 (episodes 1 - 5).

1997
Hosts "The Public Workshop on Special Effects". Launches production of the first feature film "Operation Giant".

1998
Hosts an indies screening party "Yokohama Goraku-za Giant". Episodes 1 - 5 win the Chief Judge's Choice of the Indies SF Visual Works Awards at the 37th Japan SF Convention "CAPRICON 1".

2000
Episode 6 included in the video of selected works, prominent though left out of awards, of the 12th CG Animation Contest. 2001 Releases the video vol.2 (episodes 6 - 10). Episode 9 wins an award of the 13th CG Animation Contest.

2002
Launches production of the second feature film "Cyber Doll Zero Command".

2003
Releases "Cyber Doll Zero Command".

2005
Shoots "Gold Rush" at the venue of the Tokyo Toy Festival in August. P-Man appointed as the ad character for "Digital Contents Festa Yokohama" in December. An exhibition event held at the venue.

2006
Screens "Gold Rush" at the venue of the Tokyo Toy Festival in February. Episode 17 "A Sinking City" wins the Award for Excellence in Film at the 1st Poo Film Festival in April. Takes part in Yokohama EIZONE "Creators' Market" in July. Episode 14 "A Big Whirlwind" wins the Best Work of the General Category at the Gunma Students' Short Film Contest in November.

Diverse
The series never becomes stereotyped as every episode has different visual images in terms of monsters' abilities or happenings. Miniature work, puppet animation, computer graphics imageryc These special effects enhance colourful characters in each episode, hence a bunch of attractive enemies with marked individualities.
Brief
Each episode basically runs only 5 minutes, therefore it's very convenient to screen, for example, at kindergartens and other facilities for children. What's more, its contents size is ideal for the distribution through new media such as mobile phones or the Internet.
